Jan - June Children's Bereavement Support Group
Run by Hospice, Inc.
For school-age children who have lost family members and are experiencing normal grief
1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month, Jan.-June 2012
6:00-8:00pm in Kingston
Grieving the loss of a loved one is difficult at any stage of life. But for children, it can be uniquely challenging. Due to their less developed cognitive and emotional capacity, children need help understanding what death is, coming to terms with its irreversibility and learning to identify and express emotions.
The group is designed to help children address the tasks of grief in a supportive, therapeutic setting with other children who share their experience. They do this by participating in age-appropriate activities including music, movement, games, arts and crafts, writing and grief education through literature and storytelling.
